About The Camp

Whenever you are dealing with high school/middle school players  they

always want to know where they stack up against their peers. That’s

why its no surprise that the most popular feature on any website is

the rankings page. While some players agree and others don’t, everyone

wants to know where their name lands on the list. Often we would  hear

the BIG question. "How do you do your rankings?" the more we got out

the more we heard the question. The people that were on the list would

sing our praises and the people that were not would have a problem

with the list. In a nutshell, our rankings are our opinions based on

what we see. It’s simple; we see more basketball throughout the state

of Florida than anyone else out there, and we share our findings with

the rest of the world through our rankings. Even with all the mileage

we put into spanning the state for talent, we were often criticized

for over looking players. Realizing that no one is perfect and that it

is quite possible that there are some serious players out there that

we haven’t given props to we have decided to establish the BATTLE FOR

THE RANKINGS CAMP.

Its very easy for guys that have been anointed as the next big thing

to get comfortable in their situations. The Shoe companies have made

it where Adidas Kids Play Adidas, EYBL Kids play EYBL Kids, and Under

Armour kids play Under Armour Kids. It really is pathetic when you

really think about it. These shoe company guys run around and proclaim

that their guy is the best in the country or their guys won this

tournament. When in reality the only thing that is happening is that a

bunch of overhyped, over ranked, dudes are getting together every

weekend and really going through the motions. We created the Battle

For the Rankings Camp in 2001 so that the unknown player could get his

shot against the so called best. Its easy to play when you are playing

against guys that are just like you. We wanted  to see how these top

players would stack up against unknown players that don’t care about

your Rep. The only thing that these unknown players care about is

taking your spot.

That’s the essence of the Battle For The Rankings Camp. That’s our

Mission That’s why the camp was created. Put all of the Have’s and

Have Not’s in a Gym, Take away the protection of the shoe companies,

take away the reputations and let everyones game do the talking. We

say it all the time. Some will get exposure and others will get

exposed,  whatever your fate may be, if you are there you can say that

you Battled For It!
